Wedoany.com Report on Feb 25th, RDM Group has recently launched its new generation of coated recycled board product, Vincicoat Plus (abbreviated as V+). This product aims to enhance packaging strength while achieving packaging weight reduction to support sustainability goals. Through engineering optimization, the Vincicoat Plus coated recycled board addresses the insufficient strength of traditional recycled boards. It offers up to 15-20% higher strength compared to the company's standard WLC board, while maintaining a minimum of 85% recycled fiber content.

Vincicoat Plus coated recycled board features excellent stiffness, effectively resisting stress during machine direction and cross-direction bending, making it the strongest GD board (WLC) in RDM Group's history. This characteristic provides better creasing and folding performance during paper conversion, resulting in a highly compression-resistant packaging structure with high top-to-bottom and side compression values. For frozen and humid environment applications, V+ also offers a hard-sized option with low water absorption properties, which is readily available.

Packaging reduction has become a key sustainability focus for brand owners and retailers. RDM Group states that Vincicoat Plus coated recycled board represents a strategic shift from "recycling" to "reduction." The enhanced structural properties of V+ allow converters and brand owners to reduce the final packaging weight by up to 20%, or significantly increase packaging strength and product protection while maintaining the existing grammage.

This helps reduce material usage, lower resource requirements, and improve efficiency, bringing environmental benefits such as reduced deforestation, and achieving economic benefits through optimized packaging material use. Vincicoat Plus coated recycled board has been validated through external laboratory tests, including box compression and top load strength tests, as well as high-speed conversion trials. Pressure tests have also been conducted on hard-sized boards under combined frozen and high-humidity conditions.

This board runs efficiently during printing, cutting, and box-making processes. It is suitable for large boxes requiring high structural integrity, high-speed food and pharmaceutical packaging lines, frozen and refrigerated food packaging, as well as packaging for heavier contents like cosmetics, soaps, and detergents. Vincicoat Plus is designed and produced at RDM Group's Santa Giustina plant in Italy.

Krzysztof Krajewski, Chief Sustainability & Innovation Officer at RDM Group, said: "When performance is no longer a compromise, recycled board becomes the obvious choice."

"With Vincicoat PLUS, brand owners can obtain the strength, durability, and reliability needed in packaging to protect precious products, while reducing material usage and maximizing recycled fiber content. The combination of stronger boxes, lighter packaging, and circular solutions gives brands the confidence to provide consumers with excellent solutions while supporting global environmental goals."
