13.8 kV Single-Phase AC Automatic Line Voltage Regulator
Technical Specifications
The VR-8 single-phase step voltage regulator is an on-load tap-changing autotransformer that automatically regulates distribution line voltage within a ±10% range in 32 steps (approximately 5/8% per step).
Its ratings are as follows:
1. Voltage: 2,500 volts (60 kV BIL) to 33,000 volts (200 kV BIL);
2. Current: 50 amperes to 1,665 amperes;
3. Capacity: 33 kVA to 1,000 kVA;
4. Frequency: 50 Hz or 60 Hz.
All ratings are equipped with internal potential winding taps and/or external ratio correction transformers so that each regulator can be applied over a range of system voltages.
The digital control system automatically operates the tap changer mechanism to maintain system voltage within the set bandwidth. The control system supports external programming for precise setting of control limits and features advanced functions to meet special control, communication, and data logging requirements.
Pad-mounted voltage regulators are equipped with support brackets for pole mounting and are provided with bolt-on provisions for platform mounting. Substation-style voltage regulators are equipped with a rectangular substation base. A lifting platform is available as an option.
