Product Introduction

Pressure swing adsorption (PSA) is used to purify carbon monoxide from CO-containing gas mixtures. The feed gas first undergoes removal of carbon dioxide, moisture, and trace sulfur; the purified gas then enters the VPSA unit, where impurities such as hydrogen, nitrogen, and methane are removed. The adsorbed carbon monoxide is desorbed under vacuum via pressure reduction and discharged as product.

Technical Features

A CO-specific adsorbent with high N2/CO and CH4/CO separation coefficients is used, significantly reducing unit energy consumption and increasing product purity.

Low production cost of product carbon monoxide.

For feed gas containing large amounts of N2, it is more suitable than cryogenic methods.

The PSA process has a short flow scheme and low operating pressure: 0.1~2.0 MPaG, with product purity of 96–99.95%.

Unit Scale

200~30,000 Nm³/h.

Applications

Water gas, semi-water gas, raw coke oven gas, converter gas, blast furnace gas, syngas, and other CO-containing gas sources.
