UK-based software verification tool provider Rapita Systems has established a partnership with Avionyx, an aerospace engineering company under Costa Rica's Joby Aviation, aiming to accelerate the delivery of avionics software certification services for customers in the Americas. This collaboration will combine Rapita's verification tools with Avionyx's 35 years of engineering expertise to support projects requiring certification to Design Assurance Level A (DAL A) under the DO-178C standard, with the goal of reducing the time and cost associated with software compliance testing.

Jamie Ayre, Chief Commercial Officer at Rapita Systems, stated, "The partnership between Rapita and Avionyx is a logical fit, as we share a common focus on supporting highly critical aerospace projects and are dedicated to tackling the industry's most challenging issues." The collaboration will also address challenges related to the certification of multi-core processors in modern aircraft. Rapita Systems' MACH178 workflow, combined with Avionyx's engineering experience, will provide a methodology to meet the objectives of AC 20-193, the FAA's guidance on multi-core processor certification.
Tom Ferrell, General Manager of Avionyx, said, "This partnership enables Avionyx to offer clients a faster and more efficient certification path, even for the most demanding DAL A and multi-core projects." This alliance aims to address the time and cost challenges in the field of avionics certification, delivering more efficient solutions to the industry.
