Wedoany.com Report, On March 5th, with the opening of the balance valve on the forebay bulkhead gate, seawater flowed into the pump house forebay through the intake culvert, successfully achieving water intake into the conventional island pump house forebay for Units 5 and 6 of the Lufeng Nuclear Power Plant in China. The smooth completion of this milestone provides the necessary water source conditions for the subsequent cold functional tests of Unit 5, strongly guarantees the smooth progress of the project's critical path, and lays a solid foundation for the subsequent grid connection and power generation of the units.

The pump house forebay consists of multiple caisson wellbores with limited internal space. Traditional construction methods not only faced difficulties in formwork installation and dismantling but also required setting up scaffolding or fabricating simple steel frames inside the wellbores as working platforms, resulting in unsatisfactory economic efficiency and safety. To solve this problem, the project team drew on advanced practices from marine and municipal engineering, combined with the actual site conditions, and innovatively applied a climable integrated lifting platform formwork system. This system utilizes the formwork reinforcement structure of the wellbore platform itself, not only providing a spacious working area but also achieving the integrated lifting of the formwork and platform. This process platform is flexible for lifting, can be performed in stages, requires minimal tower crane usage, and significantly improved construction efficiency and safety after implementation. Simultaneously, the platform can be telescopically adjusted within the limited space according to the wellbore dimensions to meet the construction requirements for caissons of various specifications, providing crucial technical support for the high-quality completion of the pump house forebay.

During the construction progress, adhering to the work style of "strictness, prudence, meticulousness, and pragmatism," the project team organized collaborative efforts among all participating units, implemented scientific organization and precise strategies, and worked closely with the design institute to conduct in-depth technical optimization. They successfully addressed challenges posed by large-scale rock backfilling and the deep interweaving of civil and installation works, providing strong guarantees for the overall project advancement.

In the next step, Lufeng Nuclear Power will continue to maintain high standards and strict requirements, steadily advancing subsequent construction tasks to contribute solid strength to the development of China's clean energy industry.
