Dongfang Electric Corporation and Électricité de France Sign a Memorandum of Understanding on Comprehensive Strategic Cooperation

en.Wedoany.com Reported - From October 21 to 22 local time, Luo Qianyi, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Chairman of Dongfang Electric Corporation, led a delegation to visit Électricité de France (EDF) and held talks with Bernard Fontana, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of EDF, during which the two sides signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Comprehensive Strategic Cooperation.

During the talks, Luo Qianyi introduced Dongfang Electric Corporation's "one core, two wings" industrial layout, its energy equipment R&D and manufacturing capabilities, and the progress of cooperation projects between the two sides. He stated that Dongfang Electric Corporation attaches great importance to its long-standing sound partnership with EDF and hopes to take the signing of this Memorandum of Understanding as a new starting point to continuously deepen practical cooperation in the nuclear energy sector, simultaneously expand cooperation in renewable energy such as wind power and hydropower, jointly seize the opportunities of the global green and low-carbon energy transition, jointly serve the overall interests of China-France energy industry cooperation, and continuously inject new momentum into high-quality cooperation between the two countries in the energy sector.

Fontana extended a warm welcome to Luo Qianyi and his delegation, fully affirmed Dongfang Electric Corporation's achievements in the R&D of high-end energy equipment, intelligent manufacturing, and project performance and delivery, and spoke highly of the results of past cooperation between the two sides. He stated that EDF and Dongfang Electric Corporation share aligned development philosophies and broad space for cooperation, and expressed the hope to build on the cooperation consensus reached in this Memorandum of Understanding, leverage their respective technological and industrial advantages, continuously deepen practical strategic cooperation, broaden cooperation areas, and elevate China-France energy strategic cooperation to a new level.

During the visit, Luo Qianyi and his delegation visited the Chinese Embassy in France and held talks with relevant officials of the Embassy. The two sides conducted in-depth exchanges on the development trends of China-France bilateral trade and economic relations, the innovation and development trends and cooperation opportunities of the China-Europe energy industry, as well as Dongfang Electric Corporation's business operations and market expansion in France, building consensus and laying a solid foundation for deepening China-France energy cooperation.

While in France, the delegation also inspected the Fécamp offshore wind power project and the EPR2 Penly nuclear power plant project.
