Nanjing Fuxinli Plans to Build a 10,000-Square-Meter Fusion First Wall Production Facility in Nanjing, China

en.Wedoany.com Reported - Recently, Nanjing Fuxinli New Material Technology Co., Ltd. proposed a new capacity expansion plan, intending to build a new production facility of approximately 10,000 square meters to establish a specialized production line supporting the first wall of the shielding blanket for the Burning Plasma Experimental Superconducting Tokamak (BEST). The production line is planned to cover manufacturing processes including material forging, dissimilar metal joining, and precision machining, targeting the batch production requirements of fusion device first wall assemblies. The company also plans to launch a new round of financing to support manufacturing capacity expansion and related technology research and development.

The construction of the production line is directly related to the BEST shielding blanket system first wall procurement project undertaken by Nanjing Fudilong Mechanical Technology Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Fuxinli. In August 2026, the company became the first winning candidate for the first lot of the project with a bid of 92.1154 million yuan, and the delivery period specified by the project is 550 days.

The BEST first wall assembly consists of wing plates, central beams, bolted connection components, gaskets, and connecting pipes. The wing plates adopt a three-layer composite structure consisting of a tungsten-copper block layer, a chromium-zirconium-copper layer, and a 316L(N) stainless steel layer. The manufacturing process involves dissimilar metal joining processes such as explosive welding, hot isostatic pressing welding, and brazing. The procurement technical specifications require a weld bond rate of no less than 95%, and no defects larger than 2 millimeters shall be present in phased array ultrasonic C-scan inspection.

According to the production line plan, Fuxinli will integrate the advanced material preparation, special welding, and protective coating technologies of its subsidiary Leifuxin, as well as the precision machining, component assembly, and quality inspection capabilities of Fudilong, to shift the first wall assembly from the original single-piece custom manufacturing mode to specialized batch production. The company's proposed new financing round will cover production facility expansion, R&D investment, and market development.
