Wedoany.com Report on Mar 10th, Bridges Air Cargo, as the launch customer, has successfully put the first Embraer E-Freighter into operation in Europe. The jet completed its inaugural commercial flight, departing from Cologne, Germany, and arriving at Larnaca, Cyprus, transporting time-sensitive express materials. The aircraft will be operated for Bridges Worldwide, providing network solutions for the express industry across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

Guy Bridges, CEO of Bridges Group, said: "We have developed custom container and handling systems over the past year to achieve this. Thanks to Embraer and Regional One for their support, and we look forward to the E190F freighter playing a key role in providing 8-12 ton network solutions. Obtaining the Maltese-registered Air Operator Certificate provides an ideal platform to advance E190F operations."
George Mamangakis, Chief Investment Officer of Regional One, said: "The entry into service of the E-Freighter is a significant milestone in the plan, demonstrating the strength of the partnership. Thanks to Embraer for its commitment and execution, and to Bridges for its leadership. The first commercial flight reinforces our confidence in the E190F platform's ability to provide solutions in the EMEA region."
Arjan Meijer, President and CEO of Embraer Commercial Aviation, said: "Congratulations to Bridges Air Cargo on completing the first commercial flight of the E-Freighter. This milestone marks the beginning of a new chapter in our partnership. Embraer is committed to supporting Bridges' operations, ensuring high performance and reliability."
In 2025, Embraer expanded its partnership with Regional One, Inc., adding two passenger-to-freighter (P2F) conversions, doubling the order to four aircraft. This collaboration highlights Regional One's commitment to enhancing cargo capacity through innovative P2F programs.
The E190F was launched to meet the demands of e-commerce and modern trade for rapid delivery and decentralized operations, facilitating faster cargo delivery to secondary and tertiary markets. This jet is designed to fill a gap in the air cargo market, replacing older, less efficient models.
E-Jets converted to freighters offer over 40% more volumetric capacity, have three times the range of large cargo turboprops, and have operating costs up to 30% lower than large narrow-body aircraft. Combined with lower deck and main deck capacity, the maximum structural payload is 13,500 kg.
