Wedoany.com Report on Mar 10th, Canadian mining company Emerita Resources Corp. (TSX.V: EMO) recently announced significant results from recent tests using the Albion hydrometallurgical process at its Iberian Belt West project in Spain, achieving 81% gold recovery and 96% silver recovery from flotation concentrates.

Conducted at the CORE Resources laboratory in Australia, the tests focused on evaluating the ultra-fine grinding and oxidative leaching flowsheet of the Albion process. The company noted that these results are superior to the metallurgical data reported on May 27, 2025, which showed 81.5% gold recovery and 64.1% silver recovery using the optimized CLEVR process. Emerita President Joaquin Merino, P.Geo., stated in the news release: "Both technologies we examined show comparable gold recoveries of approximately 81%. However, the Albion route maximizes silver recovery, potentially adding significant value to the IBW project in the current market."

The Iberian Belt West project, located in the Andalusia region of Spain, is Emerita Resources' flagship polymetallic project. The company stated that the test results from both pyrometallurgical and hydrometallurgical routes enhance the project's technical robustness, providing two viable processing options, reducing metallurgical risk, and increasing process flexibility. Emerita plans to continue testing other technologies in 2026 to determine the optimal flowsheet.

The project has received a Strategic Importance Declaration from the Andalusian government and has completed a mineral resource estimate. The environmental impact study has been submitted, and public consultation activities are ongoing. The company is advancing the pre-feasibility study and mining license application process. The development progress of the Iberian Belt West project is expected to further enhance its competitiveness in the global mining market.
