He stated that, in addition to fertilizer distribution, 12,000 liters of organic fertilizer were also provided, and over 3,500 farmers were trained in soil management and sustainable farming practices to enhance productivity and promote environmentally friendly agricultural methods.

Kyari noted that regulatory oversight of the fertilizer sector has been strengthened, with 109 fertilizer inspectors trained and deployed, and over 329 industry stakeholders educated on compliance standards. He also mentioned that authorities have intensified efforts to combat the distribution of adulterated fertilizers, including prosecuting offenders, and have established a national reference laboratory and upgraded the national fertilizer management platform to improve fertilizer quality control and supply chain transparency.

According to the 2025 Agricultural Performance Survey results from the National Agricultural Extension and Research Liaison Services, the yields of major crops, including rice, maize, sorghum, millet, cowpea, yam, and cassava, have increased compared to 2024. The government's interventions focus on expanding key agricultural value chains such as rice, maize, wheat, cassava, cocoa, and oil palm to support smallholder farmers, enhance productivity, and reduce post-harvest losses.

At the meeting, Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, emphasized the importance of transparency and citizen participation in governance, stating that stakeholder engagement is crucial for implementing reforms under the government's development agenda. Minister of State for Agriculture and Food Security, Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi, reiterated the ministry's commitment to achieving food sovereignty in Nigeria.

Forum participants raised concerns regarding seed supply, fertilizer costs, and partnerships to increase wheat production and reduce bread prices. Government officials assured stakeholders that the national agricultural system would be strengthened through ongoing reforms to address these issues.
