USDA Allocates $500,000 to Support Biofertilizer Exports to Vietnam

en.Wedoany.com Reported - The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) recently opened applications for technical assistance funding, allocating $500,000 to support the promotion of American-made biofertilizers and fertilizer enhancement products in the Vietnamese market. Universities, agricultural trade associations, and nonprofit organizations are all eligible to submit applications through the USDA's Foreign Agricultural Service.

The project will assess whether products such as liquid fish fertilizer can reduce nitrogen leaching while maintaining crop yields in both the United States and Vietnam. Selected organizations will also provide technical input on Vietnam's fertilizer management guidelines, with a focus on microbial coatings and other higher-efficiency alternatives to traditional synthetic fertilizers.

Planned activities include outreach tours involving American organic rice farmers, as well as monitoring of Vietnam's imports of at least three U.S. biofertilizers or fertilizer enhancement products. The application deadline is September 2, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time.
