Wedoany.com Report on Mar 10th, UK housebuilder Persimmon has recently completed a land deal in east Lancaster, aiming to advance the development of up to 1,000 homes on the site. The company reached an agreement with the Lansil Sports and Social Club, securing through this transaction the final piece of land designated for housing in the Lancaster District Local Plan.

Persimmon stated that it will proceed with a hybrid planning application, expected to be submitted to Lancaster City Council in 2026, followed by a detailed application. According to the planning scheme, over 50% of the development area will be allocated as green space, including reserved land for a new primary school and a new country park. Furthermore, the proposed development includes a new golf course and clubhouse, a bowling green, and a five-a-side football pitch, with a significant number of affordable homes also planned. This land deal lays the groundwork for the overall advancement of the project.
Trustees of the Lansil Sports and Social Club said: "After a period of detailed negotiations, we are delighted to have completed this land deal with Persimmon Homes. The proposed new facilities will provide a significantly improved golf course, clubhouse, bowling green, and five-a-side all-weather football pitch, situated within a major new residential development. This marks an important new chapter in the club's history."
