Wedoany.com Report on Mar 16th, Recently, at the maintenance site of the Donggang Road pedestrian overpass in Haigang District, Qinhuangdao City, construction personnel from the Haigang District Municipal Facilities Maintenance Center are carrying out bridge skeleton replacement work. This maintenance will involve replacing over 1,020 meters of bridge skeleton and 700 square meters of decorative cladding panels, along with comprehensive derusting and painting treatment for the main steel plates of the bridge. The project commenced on October 26th and is expected to have a duration of 30 days.

It is reported that during recent safety hazard inspections, the Haigang District Municipal Facilities Maintenance Center identified issues such as rusting of the main steel plates and skeleton of the Donggang Road pedestrian overpass. These problems could easily lead to the detachment of decorative panels, posing significant safety risks, prompting the immediate initiation of emergency repair procedures. The bridge is located near Donggang Road Primary School, with heavy vehicle and pedestrian traffic on both the main road and sidewalks. Therefore, the bridge repair work needs to be expedited while ensuring safety.
This maintenance of the Donggang Road pedestrian overpass is part of the safety hazard investigation and rectification work for urban bridge engineering in Haigang District. Since October, the Haigang District Municipal Facilities Maintenance Center has conducted comprehensive inspections of urban bridges within its jurisdiction. Repair work has been completed for over 30 damaged points on 13 urban bridges and culverts, including the Damafang River Bridge on Wenhua Road, the Moat Bridge on Renmin Road, the West Moat Bridge in Xinglongli, and the Nanshan Overpass. Thirteen issues, such as cracks caused by steel bar corrosion and expansion, have been addressed.
The Haigang District Municipal Facilities Maintenance Center prioritizes bridge engineering maintenance as a key focus of its specialized work, establishing a comprehensive maintenance mechanism that combines "daily inspections, specialized testing, and targeted rectification." Staff conduct monthly comprehensive "check-ups" on bridges within the district. Once safety hazards are identified, emergency repair procedures are immediately initiated. The center implements a "grid-based + modular" management model, dividing the entire district into over 30 grids. More than 40 inspectors conduct mobile patrols daily, enabling rapid response and problem resolution to ensure the safe operation of urban bridge engineering.
