Wedoany.com Report on Mar 17th, Starting from March 12, 2026, the desulfurization and acid gas environmental protection comprehensive utilization project of China's Shandong Zhongzhi Materials Technology Co., Ltd. has entered the acceptance and publicity stage for environmental impact assessment. The public consultation period will last for 10 working days. The project has obtained the construction project filing certificate from Shandong Province, marking the official launch of this important environmental protection project.
With a total investment of 1 billion yuan, the main construction content includes a sodium hydrosulfide combined unit, comprising a 130-ton/hour sour water stripping unit, a 350-ton/hour solvent regeneration unit, and a 400,000-ton/year sodium hydrosulfide unit, as well as a dry gas and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) dual desulfurization unit. The project will fully utilize the existing supporting and auxiliary facilities of the parent company to avoid redundant construction.
Upon completion, the project will desulfurize and refine sulfur-containing LPG and dry gas, ensuring the product sulfur content is below 35ppm. By procuring equipment such as dry gas desulfurization towers and LPG desulfurization towers, it will process approximately 300,000 tons of sulfur-containing LPG annually, producing purified LPG for external sale. Simultaneously, it will handle about 72,400 tons of sulfur-containing dry gas, with the purified dry gas being returned to the company's fuel gas pipeline network.
Furthermore, the project will comprehensively utilize sour water and rich amine solution. Through equipment like coolers and absorption towers, it will achieve acid gas recovery. It is expected to produce 400,000 tons of 32% sodium hydrosulfide product annually, with a by-product of 25,300 tons of 20% ammonia water. The regenerated lean amine solution will be partially used for the project's desulfurization unit, and partially returned to the parent company for recycling.
