en.Wedoany.com Report on Mar 21st, Felbermayr Transport and Crane Technology has recently acquired specialized equipment from the former Chemnitz-based heavy lifting supplier Hoffmann. This move expands the technology portfolio of the corporate group for complex industrial installations in Austria, Germany, and other European markets. Long-time owner Olaf Hoffmann has retired from the operational business. According to the company, the acquired equipment will continue to be utilized across various Felbermayr divisions.

According to Peter Stöttinger, Managing Director of Felbermayr Transport and Crane Technology, the integration of the technology enriches the existing service range: "The acquisition of this equipment is a valuable addition to our existing portfolio. Especially in the field of complex heavy lifting projects, we are enhancing our technical capabilities and can support our clients more comprehensively and flexibly in the future." The acquired equipment includes two lifting frames, each with a capacity of 1,000 tons, multiple Sefiro self-propelled transport vehicles, and various steel structure components, which will primarily be used for demanding heavy lifting projects.

The two lifting frames will be deployed in the Engineered Solutions division and the Dutch subsidiary Jozef Hermans (which was acquired on January 1, 2025). Division head Kees Kompier explained: "In the heavy transport sector, projects are highly individualized. With the additional equipment, we can better tailor our technical solutions to specific project requirements." The Sefiro self-propelled transport vehicles will also be integrated into the operations of Jozef Hermans. Managing Director Jos Hermans stated: "These industrial transport vehicles will be put into service next week, providing us with valuable support for the internal relocation of complex industrial equipment."

Wimmer Maschinentransporte, another Felbermayr company also focused on industrial relocations, will likewise benefit from the expanded equipment inventory, according to Stöttinger. The additional capabilities will help Felbermayr respond more quickly to customer needs: "This way, we can meet market demands more precisely in the future." Stöttinger emphasized that time-critical tasks can be completed more rapidly with the extra equipment, further strengthening the company's competitiveness in the European heavy lifting market.
