The cooperation between the two parties began in 2024. Commissioned by New Sunshine, Juliagro conducted field trials in Brazil for products such as Coronatine, Natural Brassinolide, Biostimulants, and Biological Miticides, focusing on verifying the adaptability and market positioning of these products on local crops. The trial results indicated that the relevant products demonstrated significant effects in promoting crop root growth and coping with abiotic stress. Based on solid field data, the relationship evolved from a commissioned trial partnership to a strategic cooperative partnership.
Prior to the signing, the Juliagro team made a special trip to Chengdu for on-site research. They visited New Sunshine's Pujiang R&D Center, Bioinformation Testing Center, and Chengdu R&D Center, and exchanged views with Dr. Huang Jin, Vice President of New Sunshine's Biotechnology Research Institute, on product mechanisms of action and technology platform development. The team also held talks with the company's founder and Chairman, He Qiming. Both sides reached a consensus on the demands of the Brazilian agricultural market, product technology cooperation, and market promotion strategies.
Juliagro was founded in 2016 and is headquartered in Uberlândia, Brazil. It has approximately 40 professional researchers with agronomy backgrounds, 25 of whom hold master's or doctoral degrees. The company's founder, Professor Juliatti, is a Brazilian plant pathologist who participated in research on soybean rust control in Brazil and holds significant influence in this field.
New Sunshine stated that this cooperation will leverage the respective strengths of both parties in agricultural biotechnology R&D and agricultural research for the Brazilian market. It aims to deepen collaboration in product validation, technology promotion, and market application, thereby advancing the application of Chinese agricultural biotechnology in Brazilian agricultural production.
