en.Wedoany.com Report on Mar 24th, Corn growers from the Midwestern United States recently traveled to Washington, D.C., to present their key policy priorities to federal lawmakers, focusing on the promotion of E15 fuel, trade enhancement, and controlling input costs. Shane Goplin, a farmer from Osseo, Wisconsin, stated: "Our number one topic in every meeting is E15." He, along with peers from Illinois, Michigan, and Wisconsin, called for nationwide implementation of E15 and strengthening agricultural trade.

Goplin told the media that the group had met with Michelle Bekkering, Deputy Under Secretary for Trade and Foreign Agricultural Affairs at the U.S. Department of Agriculture, to discuss the challenges of rising agricultural input costs. He said: "They understood the situation we described. We have observed continued increases in fertilizer and diesel fuel prices, so we were able to effectively convey our concerns."
Furthermore, these corn growers also engaged with leaders from the Brookings Institution, a policy research organization based in Washington. Goplin described the meeting: "We had a productive conversation. It was a two-way communication; they actively sought information from us to understand how policies actually impact farm operations."
Goplin also mentioned that the corn growers met with White House staff to assess the effectiveness and shortcomings of the "One Big Beautiful Bill Act" in supporting farmers. This trip to Washington aimed to promote the widespread use of E15 fuel and improve the agricultural trade environment through policy dialogue, addressing current production cost pressures.
