Samsung Electronics Launches Galaxy A57 5G and A37 5G in Australia, Enhancing Mid-Range Phone AI Features

These devices went on sale globally from April 10, starting at AUD 599. The 128GB version of the Galaxy A57 5G is priced at AUD 749, the 256GB version at AUD 849, while the Galaxy A37 5G's 128GB version starts at AUD 599. In Australia, the Galaxy A57 5G is available in Awesome Lilac and Awesome Navy colors, and the Galaxy A37 5G comes in Awesome Lavender and Awesome Charcoal.

Samsung Electronics positions these phones with a focus on artificial intelligence features, camera upgrades, software support, and durability. Both run on the Android 16 operating system with the One UI 8.5 interface and are planned to receive up to six generations of Android and One UI updates, along with up to six years of security patches. This strategy intensifies competition in the mid-range smartphone market, where manufacturers are differentiating their products through extended software support and AI tools.

The Galaxy A57 5G and Galaxy A37 5G integrate AI tools under Samsung's "Awesome Intelligence" branding, including voice transcription for the Voice Recorder app, AI Select text extraction, Object Eraser photo editing, and Circle to Search with Google for image recognition. Upgraded Bixby features and Gemini integration support cross-application task handling, with some functions requiring login to Samsung and Google accounts.

In terms of cameras, both phones feature a triple rear camera system, including a 50-megapixel main sensor, an ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 5-megapixel macro camera, along with a 12-megapixel front camera. They enhance low-light photography and video performance through updated image processing. The Galaxy A57 5G additionally optimizes detail sharpening and noise reduction, and incorporates Best Face for group shots and Auto Trim for video editing.

Both devices feature a 6.7-inch screen with support for a 120Hz refresh rate and Vision Booster, but the Galaxy A57 5G uses a Super AMOLED+ panel, while the Galaxy A37 5G uses a Super AMOLED panel. In design, the Galaxy A57 5G is slimmer and lighter at 6.9mm thick and 179 grams, whereas the Galaxy A37 5G is 7.4mm thick and weighs 196 grams. The Galaxy A57 5G houses a 5000mAh battery supporting Super Fast Charging 2.0 and an enhanced cooling system, promising up to two days of battery life.
