Vietnam's Khanh Hoa Province's Thanh Son Airport receives planning approval from Ministry of Construction

en.Wedoany.com Reported - Vietnam's Ministry of Construction has approved the 2021–2030 master plan (with a vision to 2050) for Thanh Son Airport located in the southern province of Khanh Hoa. The plan designates the airport as a dual-use civil and military airport, targeting an annual passenger throughput of 3 million by mid-century.

According to the approved plan, Thanh Son Airport will be located in Da Ron Commune and will operate as a domestic airport serving both civil aviation and national defense.

During the 2021–2030 phase, the airport is expected to meet the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) 4C standard, with a designed annual passenger capacity of approximately 1.5 million. The airport will be capable of handling Code C aircraft, including Airbus A319, A320, A321, Boeing 737, and equivalent types.

Looking ahead to 2050, Thanh Son Airport is projected to maintain the ICAO 4C standard while increasing its annual passenger throughput to 3 million. The long-term development plan covers runways, taxiways, aprons, flight operation support facilities, technical infrastructure, aviation and non-aviation services, as well as security and emergency rescue systems.

According to the Ministry of Construction, the project will require approximately 2,115 hectares of land during the 2021–2030 period.
