Wedoany.com Report-Jan 14, The monopiles, each weighing over 1,100 tons will be delivered to the Port of Eemshaven, Dajin said in a social media post on 13 January.

RWE, the developer of the 1 GW Thor offshore wind farm, selected Dajin Offshore and EEW SPC in 2023 to supply 36 TP-less monopiles each, together with secondary structures, for the 72-turbine project in Denmark. The Chinese company produced the first foundation in the summer of 2024 and delivered the first batch to the Port of Eemshaven in the Netherlands in October 2024.

The foundations will be transported from the Buss Terminal Eemshaven and installed at the Thor project site in the Danish North Sea this spring by Jan De Nul.

The Thor offshore wind farm, located approximately 22 kilometres off the west coast of Jutland, was granted the offshore construction permit by the Danish Energy Agency (DEA) in October 2024, enabling RWE to begin offshore work in spring 2025.

The offshore wind farm will comprise 72 Siemens Gamesa’s SG 14-236 DD wind turbines that will be installed using a jack-up vessel from Fred. Olsen Windcarrier. Of the 72 turbines, 40 will feature recyclable rotor blades.

With a planned capacity of more than 1,000 MW, Thor is Denmark’s largest offshore wind farm to date.
