en.Wedoany.com Reported - Føn Energy Services (hereinafter referred to as Føn) has launched the largest offshore wind inspection season in its history, currently conducting simultaneous above-water and underwater inspection and repair operations at 14 offshore wind farms in the Netherlands, Scotland, Germany, and Poland.

The company has deployed technicians, vessels, dive teams, remotely operated vehicle (ROV) equipment, and survey tools for above-water and underwater inspection tasks at offshore wind farms in the North Sea and Baltic Sea during the 2026 season. This year marks the first execution year of a five-year framework agreement signed between Føn and Dutch energy company Eneco, covering six wind farms in the Netherlands: Borssele 3&4, Borssele 5, Eneco Luchterduinen, Hollandse Kust Noord, Hollandse Kust West VI, and Prinses Amaliawindpark. Related underwater and above-water operations have commenced.

Meanwhile, Føn continues to provide services for Vattenfall and Shell at Egmond aan Zee (OWEZ), the Netherlands' first offshore wind farm. In Scotland, the company has entered its third operational year delivering inspection programs for Ocean Winds' Moray East and Moray West projects. Føn stated on May 12 that multiple projects in the German North Sea and Baltic Sea regions have also commenced.

According to Føn, the current project portfolio covers over 900 offshore wind assets, generating enough electricity to power approximately 10 million households, making this the company's largest inspection campaign since its inception. During the 2026 inspection season, Føn will inspect underwater structures, monopiles, scour protection systems, cable protection systems, turbine foundations, transition pieces, external structures, and hard-to-access above-water assets. Technicians use specialized inspection software, with inspection scopes covering boat landings, internal structures, and safety-critical components.

Føn increased its technician headcount ahead of the season and continues to rely on its bases in the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, and the UK, investing in training, supply chain collaboration, and mobilization capabilities. Peter Van Veen, Offshore Wind Project Director at Føn Energy Services, said: "Having grown steadily over the past years, 2026 is a pivotal year for the team. Running operations simultaneously across more than ten wind farms in four countries, creating as many synergies as possible to achieve the most efficient delivery, is exactly what FØN was founded to do. By consolidating scopes of work, we reduce costs, lower inspection emissions per asset, and provide our clients with data-driven insights to help them make robust decisions about asset management."

Føn Energy Services was founded in 2022 by Norway's Akastor ASA and IKM Industrial Group. In 2024, the company acquired Dutch offshore wind farm services provider C-Ventus, enhancing its offshore wind operations and maintenance (O&M) capabilities through the merger.
