en.Wedoany.com Reported - The Mining Transport Equipment Repair Plant (RGTO) under Qarmet Machinery has significantly extended the service life of key components in coal mining equipment through its independently developed internal chrome plating technology. This enterprise is the only one in Kazakhstan to master this process.
Qarmet is an integrated metallurgical and mining enterprise. In the mines of its coal division, components such as piston rods, couplings, and connectors in the hydraulic systems of extraction equipment have long faced corrosion and wear issues. Valery Semenenko, head of the electroplating workshop at the repair plant, explained that internal chrome plating treatment gives the metal surface high hardness, and the chrome layer possesses strong corrosion resistance, preventing rust even after prolonged immersion in water.
This process was independently developed by the plant's hydraulics department. Department head Vitaly Nevstruev stated that the team's initial goal was to improve product service life, leading them to tackle the physically and technologically complex technique of internal chrome plating. Following the research and development, the service life of cylinders with internal plating has increased several times over, resulting in enhanced equipment operational reliability and significantly reduced repair costs.
As the main repair base for Qarmet's mining equipment, the RGTO plant also undertakes the repair of mining excavators and mine machinery, as well as the manufacturing of matching components for production site equipment.
