en.Wedoany.com Reported - On May 20 local time, French tubular solutions supplier Vallourec announced it has secured two additional line pipe orders from ExxonMobil Guyana Limited. The related products will be delivered to the Stabroek Block in Guyana, executed under the long-term agreement signed by both parties in 2021.
The combined scope of the two orders includes the supply of over 145 kilometers of coated line pipe for the Hammerhead and Longtail deepwater projects, with a total weight of approximately 40,000 metric tons. Of this, 90 kilometers of line pipe will be insulated using ExxonMobil's Proxxima resin system combined with GDLX subsea insulation technology. The orders also cover the application of anti-corrosion coatings and the supply of pipes with corrosion-resistant alloy (CRA) cladding.
Vallourec also becomes the first commercial licensee of the Proxxima resin system and GDLX subsea insulation technology. To support the delivery of these projects, the company will invest in production line upgrades at its coating solutions plant located in Serra, Espírito Santo, Brazil.
Philippe Guillemot, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Vallourec, stated: "These new contracts further strengthen Vallourec's strategic positioning as a key supplier to ExxonMobil Guyana Limited. Leveraging our industrial footprint in Brazil, these projects not only demonstrate the team's operational excellence but also reflect the strength of our complete value chain, from production to finishing and coating services."
The Stabroek Block is one of the global hotspots for deepwater oil and gas exploration in recent years. These additional line pipe orders will support the subsequent development of the block. Once the pipelines for the relevant deepwater projects are put into service, the subsea insulation technology can extend pipeline cooldown time during shutdowns, helping operators reduce the operational costs of protective measures such as inhibitor injection.
