en.Wedoany.com Reported - Certas Energy, the UK's largest independent fuel distributor, powered The Great British Farm Fest using Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO), delivering 19,775 litres of this renewable fuel over the three-day farming celebration.

Thanks to Certas Energy's HVO support, The Great British Farm Fest achieved a reduction of approximately 51,056 kg of carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2e) in greenhouse gas emissions compared to using standard diesel.

Certas Energy supplied 14,991 litres of HVO for generators at the event site, with an additional 4,784 litres used to support transport operations for tractors and related machinery.

In addition to directly powering the large farming festival, Certas Energy used its own HVO-powered tankers to transport the fuel, helping to reduce Scope 3 emissions associated with logistics and distribution.

The Great British Farm Fest is a celebration showcasing authentic British farming culture, held from May 22 to 24 at NAEC Stoneleigh in Warwickshire, attracting over 60,000 participants during its packed three-day schedule.

Agricultural influencer and Certas Energy ambassador Olly Harrison said seeing the event powered by HVO made the feasibility and impact of switching from diesel tangible. He noted that many people think switching to HVO needs to happen overnight, but it's not an all-or-nothing situation—even converting one vehicle at a time can bring about transformative change.

Leigh Claridge, Head of Sales at Certas Energy, pointed out that the event was a wonderful experience, with the stand visited by a diverse range of attendees, from children and young families to farmers and business organisations, all seeking solutions to their challenges. The knowledgeable and passionate team was available throughout the three days to answer customer questions and help break down some of the challenges they face. The team is proud to help agricultural and commercial customers tackle these challenges. As an energy transition partner, Certas Energy is committed to guiding customers at every stage of their transition journey, whether by installing solar panels to ensure efficient farm operations or supplying HVO to power company fleets, even if customers switch just one vehicle to HVO at a time.
