en.Wedoany.com Reported - Georgia Governor Brian Kemp announced that ArcelorMittal Building Solutions will establish its North American headquarters and a new manufacturing plant in Macon. The company expects an initial investment of $57 million, creating 70 jobs, with plans to invest an additional $50 million and add 70 more jobs in the coming years.

The new headquarters and manufacturing operations will also include a new training facility, located at the Airport South Site. Construction is expected to begin in the second half of 2026, with operations targeted to start in the second half of 2027, subject to customary permits and approvals. Jobs will span production, logistics, management, and sales.

"We are bringing our advanced insulated panel manufacturing closer to our customers, focusing on speed, reliability, and consistent quality," said CEO Jean Christophe Kennel. "This plant will utilize state-of-the-art production technology and support a wide range of building applications in the region. We chose Macon for its workforce, industrial base, and strong support from local and state partners."

ArcelorMittal Building Solutions designs and manufactures building envelope systems for insulating and protecting warehouses, factories, data centers, and commercial buildings. The company serves a broad construction market through more than 50 manufacturing and office locations worldwide. The new operations will build on ArcelorMittal's existing U.S. footprint, including steelmaking, finishing, manufacturing, research and development, and sales/support bases, which employ over 3,200 people across nine states.

State Project Manager Kimberlyn Daniel represented the Georgia Department of Economic Development on this competitive project, in collaboration with the Macon-Bibb County Industrial Authority, Georgia EMC, and Georgia Quick Start.
