ProDirector 7 is the laser projection system used for precise positioning of formwork, embedded parts, and reinforcement in the precast concrete industry. It can be installed either as a stationary unit or mounted on rails for long-distance movement, adapting to different production environments.

The stationary solution is designed for continuous circulation plants. Pallets are placed directly beneath the laser, and the system projects the positions of formwork, pre-assembled components, magnetic lines, and other elements at various heights according to the selected program. Height parameters can be stored in advance or entered manually via the ConcretePilot software; the software also supports saving functions on the remote control, simplifying on-site operations.

The rail system operates in a similar manner, with the laser moving between positions along a predetermined path. In practical applications, laser systems have been installed on tracks up to 120 meters long, and the entire production process can be planned via CAD. When the laser pauses at a specific position, it projects all elements required for that production step. The system software supports common projection formats such as DXF, DWG, ULB, and HPGL. Customer-specific data formats are optimized in collaboration with customers after internal testing. The laser system can also be integrated with standard control systems, facilitating incorporation into existing production workflows.

The Stigloher concrete plant in Bad Aibling is an application example of such a system. The plant is equipped with a rail system featuring two mobile laser projectors for positioning complex geometries of precast components. The two selected ProDirector LR laser projectors are specifically designed for long-distance use and can operate either independently or jointly to project large-scale drawings, with each unit handling a portion of the projection. With the push of a button, operators can project millimeter-precise contours for formwork with curved and inclined lines, pre-assembled components, and recesses, improving manufacturing accuracy and speed.

The lasers are connected via PC and controlled by the ConcretePilot software, with automatic calibration at new positions. Data transmission is carried out along the guide rails, enhancing the flexibility and efficiency of the entire production chain.

Calibration is a critical step in ensuring projection accuracy in laser projection systems. Typically, four fixed calibration points are used, positioned near the worktable or on brackets close to the pallet circulation area. For tilting worktables, calibration points are secured via support structures or by drilling holes directly into the worktable surface. This arrangement ensures that the calibration points remain level with the table surface even when the worktable is tilted backward, allowing projection accuracy to be continuously adjusted at any set height.
