Thailand's Asia Cement Jointly Establishes Alternative Fuel Company to Expand Fuel Supply for Cement Production

en.Wedoany.com Reported - On October 22, Asia Cement Public Company Limited of Thailand announced that its subsidiary Asia Cement Energy Conservation and Asia Energy Development signed a strategic cooperation agreement on October 21 to jointly establish a joint venture, Asia Circular Energy, to engage in the production of refuse-derived fuel and other alternative fuels. The two parties will leverage existing waste treatment facilities in Saraburi Province, Thailand, to expand alternative fuel production capacity, provide long-term fuel supply to cement plants under Asia Cement, and continue developing resource utilization projects for non-recyclable waste.

The joint venture is established by Asia Cement Energy Conservation (ACEC), under Asia Cement, and Asia Energy Development (AED), with business scope covering refuse-derived fuel (RDF) production, waste treatment, and other alternative fuel supply. ACEC handles energy-related business within the Asia Cement Group, while AED provides existing waste processing facilities and alternative fuel production capacity.

AED has supplied alternative fuel to Asia Cement for more than ten consecutive years, with its waste treatment and RDF production facilities located near the Pukrang cement plant in Saraburi Province, Thailand. Building on the existing supply cooperation, the two parties will have the joint venture carry out subsequent alternative fuel capacity expansion, increase the scale of fuel supply required for cement production, and continue to improve fuel quality management and supply arrangements.

Asia Cement's existing Pukrang production base is located in Phra Phutthabat District, Saraburi Province. Under this agreement, the joint venture will utilize AED's existing waste treatment capacity to process non-recyclable waste into alternative fuel for cement manufacturing, and continue to develop other waste-derived resource products. Asia Cement and AED will subsequently jointly advance the expansion of relevant production capacity and the development of the supply system.
