en.Wedoany.com Reported - Holcim Mexico has invested 53 million Mexican pesos to renew its ready-mix concrete transport fleet in the Monterrey metropolitan area, purchasing 27 HOWO concrete mixer trucks, each with a loading capacity of 8 cubic meters. As of the announcement, 16 units have been delivered and put into operation, with the remaining 11 scheduled to join the fleet progressively in November.

The new vehicles are intended to replace existing aging units, primarily handling transport and distribution tasks between concrete production plants in the Monterrey area, serving the local building construction market and industrial flooring projects. According to Holcim's estimates, the new vehicles are expected to achieve 30% higher operating efficiency per unit than the existing vehicles, and the 27 new trucks can handle a transport workload equivalent to that of 35 old trucks.

All 27 mixer trucks are equipped with engines compliant with the Euro VI emission standard. Holcim expects that after the fleet renewal, annual carbon dioxide emissions will be reduced by 18.5%, nitrogen oxide emissions by 92%, and particulate matter emissions by 90%. The above emission reduction figures are corporate projections and are not yet actual measurement results after the full fleet is put into operation.

The vehicles are equipped with GPS positioning, transport status monitoring, safety cameras, and driver assistance systems, and are configured with relevant safety equipment in accordance with Holcim's health, safety, and environmental management standards. The new vehicles will replace older models that require frequent maintenance and face limited supply of certain spare parts, in order to reduce unplanned downtime and repair work.

According to Holcim's published vehicle renewal plan, the remaining 11 mixer trucks are expected to be delivered and put into operation in November 2026. The company currently operates more than 200 low-emission transport vehicles across Mexico.
