Wedoany.com Report-Mar 2, NBCC, a Government of India Civil Engineering Enterprise, has obtained a construction contract worth Rs2.64 billion ($30.4 million) from the National Institute of Technology Kurukshetra, an educational institution in India. The project involves building various academic and residential structures.
The work will follow an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) approach, as detailed in a stock exchange filing by the company. This contract comes after NBCC secured two other deals last week, totaling Rs8.51 billion. One, valued at Rs7.76 billion, is from Damodar Valley Corporation for constructing buildings and infrastructure for townships in Kolkata. The other, worth Rs749.4 million, is from the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs for maintenance of the New Moti Bagh GRPA Complex until the financial year 2027.
For the December quarter, NBCC reported standalone operational revenue of Rs20.47 billion, with Rs55.4 billion for the nine months ending 31 December 2024, showing year-over-year growth of 6.73% and 10.39%, respectively. During the same quarter, profit before tax reached Rs1.71 billion, and profit after tax was Rs1.28 billion, up 36.28% and 37.29% from the previous year. Over the nine-month period, profit before tax stood at Rs4.43 billion, with profit after tax at Rs3.38 billion.
On a consolidated basis, the group’s operational revenue was Rs28.26 billion for the December quarter and Rs74.29 billion for the nine months ending December 2024.
Last month, NBCC partnered with the Kerala State Housing Board to invite tenders for the Marine Eco City project at Marine Drive in Kochi. Also in that month, NBCC India won contracts worth nearly Rs1.38 billion for construction works in Jharkhand and Delhi.
The latest project with the National Institute of Technology Kurukshetra adds to NBCC’s ongoing efforts to expand its portfolio across educational, residential, and urban infrastructure developments in India.
