en.Wedoany.com Reported - Eitto (이에이트), a physical AI operating platform company, has been selected by the Climate Energy and Environment Ministry (기후에너지환경부) as the lead research and development institution for the "Development and Demonstration of a Digital Twin Building Energy Management Simulator Using Building Information Modeling (BIM)" project.
This project is a newly designated task under the Energy Technology Development Program promoted by the Climate Energy and Environment Ministry, with a total R&D cost of approximately 15.3 billion KRW. Hanwha (한화) and nine other companies and institutions are participating as demand enterprises and joint R&D institutions. Eitto will be responsible for the overall development and demonstration of the entire platform.
The platform integrates BIM digital twin and AI technologies to present building structure and equipment information in 3D, and connects actual energy usage, equipment status, and IoT sensor data collected from buildings, enabling real-time visualization of building operations in a digital space. AI will analyze energy consumption patterns and equipment anomaly signs, providing optimal operational solutions for energy savings and operational efficiency.
This project is expected to serve as a demonstration case extending beyond BIM design and construction phases to actual building energy operations and equipment management. Combined with the policy trend of expanding BIM adoption in public construction projects, this project holds significant importance in verifying the applicability of digital twin and AI technologies in the building operation phase.
An Eitto representative stated that the demand for autonomous operation systems in building and facility operations is expanding, where AI supports operational decisions and controls rather than merely performing analysis. Through this project, the company will upgrade its digital twin and physical AI-based energy operation technologies and expand them into an autonomous operation-type digital twin platform applicable to all areas of building and facility operations.
Previously, Eitto participated as a joint research institution in the "Data Center Carbon Management and Operation Optimization Technology Development" project. Being selected as the lead R&D institution this time indicates that the company is expanding the application scope of digital twin and physical AI technologies in the energy and infrastructure sectors.
