Wedoany.com Report-Feb 27, Trina Storage, a key player in energy storage solutions, has teamed up with Pacific Green, an energy storage developer, to create the Limestone Coast North energy park in South Australia. This collaboration focuses on advancing sustainable energy options in the region. The project, valued at A$460m ($293m), will feature a capacity of 250MW/500 megawatt hours (MWh). It is set to play a significant role in Pacific Green’s portfolio in Australia.

The collaboration aims to boost sustainable energy in Australia.

Under the agreement, Trina Storage will provide energy storage cells, handle the integration of battery cabinets, and oversee system performance and warranties. Pacific Green Group chief operations officer Christo Hammes said: “With partners like Trina Storage, we are confident in overcoming future challenges. This partnership represents a crucial step forward, and we see numerous opportunities for future collaboration with Trina Storage.” The project aligns with Australia’s need for reliable energy storage, given its diverse seasonal climate.

Trina Storage brings advanced technical expertise to the partnership. The company has earned global safety certifications, including what it describes as the world’s first Underwriter Laboratories certification for thermal control in liquid-cooled energy storage containers. Its anti-condensation designs have passed third-party evaluations, and the company has also obtained TÜV NFPA69 certification for its explosion-proof ventilation systems. These achievements highlight Trina Storage’s commitment to safety and reliability.

Trina Solar global marketing president Yang Bao commented: “This collaboration with Pacific Green reaffirms our trustworthiness among global clients. Through our vertically integrated operations, Trina Storage has developed end-to-end cell-to-AC [alternating current] capabilities. Moving forward, we will accelerate strategic partnerships and continue creating value for our clients.” The Limestone Coast North energy park reflects a shared goal of delivering efficient and sustainable energy solutions.

In February 2025, Pacific Green finalized a deal to transfer ownership of the Limestone Coast North energy park to Intera Renewables for A$460m. Construction and development will proceed, with the facility scheduled to begin commercial operations in early 2027. This project underscores the growing emphasis on energy storage to support Australia’s renewable energy objectives, providing a stable and scalable solution for the region’s energy needs. The partnership between Trina Storage and Pacific Green sets a foundation for further cooperation in the sustainable energy sector.
