Gamuda Consortium Awarded Parramatta Station Contract for Sydney Metro West
en.Wedoany.com Reported - On September 3, Sydney Metro awarded the Parramatta Integrated Station Development project on the Sydney Metro West line to the Riverside Link Consortium, comprising Gamuda Engineering, Gamuda (Australia), and MTR Corporation (Australia). The core contract covers the design and construction of the future Parramatta Metro Station and associated station infrastructure, along with development rights for the station's above-ground and adjacent parcels.

The station works contract is valued at approximately A$880 million, with Gamuda Engineering holding an 80% participating interest and MTR Australia holding the remaining 20%. Works are scheduled to commence on September 4, with a target completion date of 2032. In addition to the underground station structure, the contract scope includes in-station infrastructure directly related to station operations.
Parramatta Station is one of the key stations on the Sydney Metro West line. The line spans approximately 24 kilometers, connecting Greater Parramatta with the Sydney Central Business District. The station box and associated tunnel works for Parramatta Station were previously undertaken by a consortium of Gamuda Australia and Laing O'Rourke, covering approximately 9 kilometers of twin-tunnel construction between Sydney Olympic Park and Westmead. This new contract corresponds to the subsequent design, construction, and integrated development phase of the station, representing a separate works package from the earlier tunnel and station box contracts.
The Parramatta Integrated Station Development project also includes development rights for four integrated development sites above and adjacent to the station, with planned uses encompassing commercial, retail, and residential purposes. The Sydney Metro West project had previously awarded contracts for the line systems, train operations, tunnels, and several station packages, with station contracts for Parramatta, Sydney Olympic Park, and Pyrmont included in the subsequent award schedule for 2026. The Parramatta project has now transitioned from the pending award stage to a formal contract stage.
