en.Wedoany.com Reported - O-Green, a green infrastructure platform jointly owned by Naqaa Sustainable Energy and OQ Alternative Energy, announced the financial close of the largest solar project serving industrial cities in the Sultanate of Oman.

With a capacity of 93MW, the project is developed by O-Green in partnership with the Public Authority for Industrial Estates (Madayn) at Sohar Industrial City. It is the first solar project in Oman to directly supply industrial cities through a dedicated power supply model. Covering an area of 1.45 million square meters, the project aims to provide clean electricity to over 200 industrial facilities within the industrial zone. According to O-Green, construction progress has exceeded 60%, including the phased installation of nearly 150,000 solar panels, with commercial operations expected to begin in September.

The financial close ceremony was held under the patronage of Mohsin Hamad Al Hadhrami, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Energy and Minerals. The project is financed by Ahli Islamic Bank, highlighting the growing role of sustainable finance in supporting large-scale renewable energy infrastructure in the region. Meanwhile, O-Green also signed an agreement with the Arab Open University to develop a solar power plant on its campus. The agreement was signed by Professor Mohamed Hamdan Al Badi on behalf of the university and Mustafa Mohammed Al Hinai on behalf of O-Green.
