en.Wedoany.com Reported - On October 29, French energy group ENGIE confirmed that two large-scale solar power plants in Rajasthan and Gujarat, India, have been fully commissioned, adding a combined installed capacity of 450 MW. The Khaba project in Rajasthan has an installed capacity of 250 MW, while the Khavda project in Gujarat has an installed capacity of 200 MW. Both plants have completed construction and entered the operational phase, and are respectively developed by project companies under ENGIE.

The Khaba solar power plant is located in the Barmer district of Rajasthan and is developed by Khaba Renewable Energy Private Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of ENGIE. The project has an installed capacity of 250 MW and is expected to generate approximately 650 million kWh of electricity annually. ENGIE estimates that the plant can reduce carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 180,000 tonnes per year.

The other plant, the Khavda solar power plant, is located in the Khavda Renewable Energy Park in the Kutch salt marsh region of Gujarat and is developed by Enren II Energy Private Limited. The project has an installed capacity of 200 MW and is expected to generate approximately 350 million kWh of electricity annually. The project has signed a 25-year power purchase agreement with Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited, the power procurement agency of Gujarat, and the plant's output will be supplied according to the contractual arrangements.

According to project data published by ENGIE, the two plants are expected to generate approximately 1 billion kWh of electricity annually in total. During construction, approximately 80% of the construction workers came from the local areas where the projects are located. Both plants have now entered full commercial operation.
