en.Wedoany.com Reported - Vodafone Idea (Vi) is expanding 5G network coverage across multiple locations in India, while also restoring mobile network services on Mumbai Metro's Aqua Line 3. The company has launched commercial 5G services in Ludhiana, Jalandhar, and Patiala in Punjab, and plans to extend coverage to Amritsar this month. Additionally, Vi has activated 5G connectivity in Bhopal, as well as in Coimbatore, Tirupur, and Vellore in Tamil Nadu.

With the latest round of 5G deployment, customers in these cities can enjoy high-definition video streaming, cloud gaming, video conferencing, faster download speeds, and real-time cloud access services. Vi stated that it has deployed AI-driven self-optimizing networks (SON) to enhance performance, and noted that the 5G deployment ensures connectivity in densely populated areas, manufacturing zones, and major tourist destinations.
Regarding the Mumbai Metro, Vi announced on Thursday that it has restored mobile network services at 16 stations on Aqua Line 3 from Aarey JVLR to Acharya Atre Chowk. Coverage includes major stations such as Seepz MIDC Andheri, Marol Naka, CSMI Airport Terminal 2, Dadar, Siddhivinayak, and Worli. Bharti Airtel has also restored network access on the same line between Aarey-JVLR and Bandra Kurla Complex stations.
The latest deployment enables commuters to use data services in metro stations, platforms, and transition areas. Vi confirmed that network deployment for Phase 2 of Aqua Line 3, covering an additional 11 stations between Science Centre and Cuffe Parade, is underway and expected to be completed in the coming weeks.
