en.Wedoany.com Reported - Zoom has launched a new data center in Saudi Arabia, aimed at supporting the country's rapidly advancing digital agenda. The facility was sponsored by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), with Ahmed Alsuwaiyan, Governor of the Digital Government Authority (DGA), and representatives from Saudi Aramco attending the inauguration ceremony.

The data center is located at center3, a local Saudi service provider that offers carrier-neutral data centers and submarine cable systems connecting Europe, Asia, and Africa. This launch is part of Zoom's broader investment in Saudi Arabia. Last year, Zoom announced a $75 million investment in the country, focusing on AI-driven innovation and the infrastructure needed for scaling. The collaboration comes as Saudi Arabia designates 2026 as the "Year of AI" and marks the tenth anniversary of the "Vision 2030" initiative. The new facility will enhance Zoom's ability to serve Saudi government agencies, enterprises, and key national infrastructure organizations. Previously, Zoom established a regional data center in the country in 2023, which already supports customers requiring local data residency.
Mohannad AlKalash, Regional Vice President for the Middle East, Turkey, Africa, and Pakistan (METAP) at Zoom, stated that Saudi Arabia is one of the most forward-looking digital markets in the region. The new data center strengthens Zoom's ability to serve local customers and reflects the company's confidence in Saudi Arabia's vision of building a connected, AI-driven future. Prior to the launch of the new data center, Zoom had already released several products, including its first AI teammate, ZoomMate, and an AI productivity suite that helps teams generate deliverables such as presentations and reports directly from meeting content.
