Unlike traditional conversational systems, AI agents can not only answer questions or generate content but also interpret goals, make operational decisions, execute tasks, interact with digital environments, and learn from specific work contexts. This evolution opens new work scenarios for architects in areas such as design assistance, BIM process automation, model review, document management, administrative procedures, or code compliance checks.

The workshop will combine an introduction to the concept of AI agents with demonstrations of practical applications in private professional settings and public administration. COAM General Manager Angela Baldellou will deliver the welcome address, and Inés Leal, Co-Director of the COAM Artificial Intelligence Lab, will introduce the session and the "experiencIAs" series. Jose María Salcedo from Adarcus will explain the differences between AI agents and other AI tools, as well as how they operate in professional digital environments. José Carlos Martín Mateos from L35 Studio will share experiences in implementing automation and AI agents in architectural firms, while Diana Aguilar Jiménez from the Madrid City Council will analyze the potential uses of AI agents in architecture, urban planning, and permit management.

The final segment of the workshop will begin at 19:00, featuring an open discussion on the theme "Learning to Collaborate with AI Agents in Our Work as Architects: Opportunities and Risks," moderated by Inés Leal. The discussion aims to reflect on how architects can become professionals capable of guiding, supervising, evaluating, and collaborating with increasingly autonomous artificial intelligence systems. The goal of the workshop is to explore how these technologies can be used to reduce repetitive tasks, increase productivity, and free up time for high-value-added work such as design, critical analysis, decision-making, and technical responsibility.
