en.Wedoany.com Reported - SWI Group has announced the acquisition of a significant stake in Genesis Digital Assets Limited (GDA) for $500 million. GDA is a large private digital infrastructure platform primarily operating in the United States. Upon completion of this acquisition, SWI Group holds approximately 77.2% of the $1.124 billion liquidation preference (by value) attached to GDA's preferred share class, as well as approximately 38.3% of the total equity.

GDA has 1.3 GW of operational and approved grid-connected capacity, with a total of 15 sites, including several hyperscale facilities in Texas.

SWI Group plans to leverage the operational experience of its European data center platform, AiOnX, in AI-ready infrastructure to reposition the platform, currently focused on digital asset mining, toward high-performance computing and artificial intelligence-related workloads. Combined with AiOnX's European platform (2.3 GW capacity) in Ireland, the UK, Denmark, Spain, and Italy, this acquisition provides SWI Group with a total of 3.6 GW of transatlantic AI-ready digital infrastructure, one of the largest portfolios owned by a single enterprise globally.

Max-Hervé George, Founder and CEO of SWI Group, stated that access to power is now the most valuable resource in the digital infrastructure sector, and repurposing legacy cryptocurrency mining infrastructure for AI and high-performance computing represents the optimal use of these assets. The company began investing in power connectivity in 2020, and this theory is now being validated at scale.
