Turkey to Invest at Least $10 Billion in AI Project Implementation

en.Wedoany.com Reported - Turkey will mobilize at least $10 billion in private funds for the implementation of artificial intelligence (AI) projects, covering data centers, cloud computing, and AI infrastructure construction. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced this while unveiling the AI action plan in Istanbul.

Erdogan stated that Turkey is transferring the experience and capabilities accumulated in the defense industry to fields such as artificial intelligence. In addition to private investment, the country will allocate at least 2% of its national investment plan to AI projects. According to the plan, by 2030, the installed capacity of Turkey's data centers will be increased to at least 1 gigawatt.

In terms of talent development, Turkey plans to train 10,000 AI experts and approximately 100,000 professionals in AI application fields. Erdogan said that Turkey will actively participate in formulating human-centered AI standards at international platforms such as the OECD, G20, and the United Nations. He expressed hope that Turkey will join the ranks of leading countries in the AI era.
