en.Wedoany.com Reported - On June 17, the 2026 China Unicom IoT Ecosystem Conference was held in Nanjing under the theme "New Journey of IoT · Advancing Together." During the event, the AIoT Ecosystem Co-Creation Strategy and an IoT white paper were released, along with upgraded products such as the Gewu Intelligent CMP 3.0 and the China Unicom Gewu AIoT Platform 2.0. Strategic cooperation agreements were signed with over 50 enterprises. Hao Liqian, Deputy General Manager of China Unicom, attended and delivered a speech.

In his speech, Hao Liqian stated that IoT is transitioning from the Internet of Everything to the Intelligent Internet of Everything. China Unicom is focusing on four key tracks—connectivity, computing power, services, and security—transforming from a basic pipeline provider to a digital integrated service provider. In response to new opportunities, the company proposed three initiatives: building an AIoT end-to-end capability system centered on connectivity, chip modules, platforms, and applications; transitioning from general connectivity to scenario-based integrated services, deeply engaging in fields such as industrial manufacturing and smart transportation while proactively deploying embodied intelligence; and leveraging the IoT industry alliance to create an ecosystem of open empowerment, collaborative innovation, and value symbiosis.

Xu Zhiyuan, Deputy Chief Engineer of the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, delivered a keynote report titled "The Era of Intelligent IoT: Five Restructurings of the IoT Industry," elaborating on restructurings in connectivity value, platform architecture, data paradigms, intelligent models, and industrial ecosystems.

The AIoT Ecosystem Co-Creation Strategy includes four plans: "Smart Connectivity" to build scenario-based, intelligent, and inclusive connectivity business models; "Chip-Module Symbiosis" to break through perception boundaries and create a new multi-dimensional integrated computing and communication ecosystem; "Platform Foundation" to leverage massive perception data to build an AIoT intelligent native brain and establish a new digital-physical collaborative foundation; and "Application Blossoming" to deeply integrate the end-network-cloud integrated infrastructure with various industries. The IoT white paper released concurrently systematically elaborates on the strategic direction, capability system, and implementation pathways.

As the core cornerstone of the strategy, the Gewu platform underwent a comprehensive upgrade at the conference. After nine years of deep cultivation, the Gewu Intelligent CMP 3.0 has achieved three major upgrades in industrialization, intelligence, and internationalization, now supporting billions of connections. The China Unicom Gewu AIoT Platform 2.0, through three core capabilities—ubiquitous intelligent foundation, AI-native perception engine, and flexible orchestration architecture—provides customers with a new intelligent IoT foundation.

Prior to the conference, the China Unicom IoT Industry Alliance held its third council meeting, electing a new chairman, secretary-general, and deputy secretary-general, and announcing the list of new vice-chairman units. Since its inception in 2017, the alliance has grown to over 700 members, covering the entire industry chain. The newly elected chairman, Hao Liqian, along with representatives from nearly 20 vice-chairman units, launched the "New Journey of IoT · Advancing Together" alliance renewal ceremony.

At the conference site, China Unicom signed agreements with over 50 customers and partners, covering key areas such as IoT chip modules, data transmission gateways, visual-sensing integration, fire safety and security, commercial enterprise services, and public services. Industry chain partners including Yuyue Medical, UNISOC, Phoenix Contact, EZVIZ, and the Chongqing Branch of the Ninth Academy of China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation delivered professional insights. China Unicom stated that it will leverage the AIoT capability system to collaborate with industry partners in advancing the construction of an intelligent IoT ecosystem.
