en.Wedoany.com Reported - At the VivaTech conference in Paris, Duokey, a company based in the Swiss canton of Vaud, launched a free tool called "Quantum Risk Score" to help organizations assess their cryptographic exposure to quantum threats. Duokey stated that the tool aims to provide concrete support for enterprises migrating to quantum-resistant cryptography.

The tool calculates a score from 0 to 100 by analyzing publicly observable signals, without requiring access to an organization's internal systems. Enterprises can thus obtain a concise and verifiable overview of their readiness for the anticipated evolution of cryptographic standards. After completing the assessment, organizations can also schedule a 30-minute consultation session with the Duokey team.

Duokey noted in its statement that risks associated with quantum technology are increasing. For instance, cybercriminals are already collecting encrypted data, aiming to decrypt it once future quantum computers become mature. Meanwhile, tightening regulations are also driving the need for action. Duokey specifically mentioned the CNSA 2.0 requirements planned by the U.S. National Security Agency (NSA) for implementation in 2027, as well as the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) plan to phase out RSA-2048 and ECDSA by 2030. The startup referred to the latter as "the cryptographic backbone of most enterprise infrastructure."

Quantum computers could render many current common encryption methods obsolete in an uncertain but presumably near future. This is why the issue is already pressing today, and quantum-safe methods do not offer absolute, worry-free security—a point elaborated in an interview with Morton Swimmer, Chief Threat Researcher at Trend Micro.
