The migration to .NET 9 is the primary technical change in this upgrade. NoSpamProxy states that this move enhances the speed, memory management, and resource efficiency of the server solution. Since .NET 9 is designed with cross-platform capabilities, it will also open up more deployment and operational options in the future, including support for Linux and containerized deployment.

Authentication mechanisms have also changed. The latest version replaces the previous NTLM authentication method with Basic Authentication, aiming to maintain compatibility and stability with current and future Windows security updates.

The improved MIME type detection is primarily aimed at defending against problematic file attachments. NoSpamProxy says that the content filter can now work more precisely, reducing the risk of dangerous content being missed due to inaccurate classification.

With support for OpenTelemetry, administrators can trace email paths in greater detail than ever before. This helps simplify error diagnosis and enables faster identification of correlations in larger IT environments.

Administrators also gain more flexibility in DMARC checks. When an inbound email fails DMARC checks, NoSpamProxy can now directly reject the message even if the sending domain employs a p=none DMARC policy.

Stefan Cink, Director of Business and Professional Services at NoSpamProxy and email security expert, stated: "By migrating to .NET 9, we are not just performing a technical update—we are laying the foundation for the next stage of NoSpamProxy's development."
