Australia's Sharon AI Signs Five-Year Orchestration Agreement with Rafay

en.Wedoany.com Reported - Australian new cloud service provider Sharon AI has signed a five-year agreement with Rafay Systems to use the Rafay Systems platform as the centralized orchestration layer within its AI Factory environment. The Nasdaq-listed company stated that the platform will standardize the configuration, governance, and monitoring of its accelerated computing infrastructure, as well as how that infrastructure is delivered to customers across different sites, tenants, and workload types.

The agreement framework is designed to orchestrate up to 150,000 graphics processing units (GPUs) over five years, reflecting the intent to develop platform components that can scale in line with GPU deployment growth. The contract also formalizes Sharon AI's existing use of Rafay across its expanding infrastructure platform, shifting from single-cluster deployments to a unified operational framework to support expansion across Asia-Pacific and beyond.

James Manning, Co-founder and CEO of Sharon AI, stated that the Rafay agreement provides a standardized platform for orchestrating and managing expanding AI infrastructure, which will enable more efficient management of computing power, accelerate service delivery, and deliver a consistent and secure experience for customers during expansion.

The platform sits above the underlying physical infrastructure, acting as a control plane that provides operational guardrails covering infrastructure lifecycle management, workload orchestration, governance, and monitoring. Both Kubernetes and virtual machine environments are managed by the same unified system. Automation, observability, and secure multi-tenancy capabilities help the company allocate computing power and adapt to different customer workload requirements, while shielding customers from the complexity of procuring, deploying, and operating advanced AI infrastructure—allowing them to access the AI capabilities they need without owning or operating the hardware themselves.

Haseeb Budhani, Co-founder and CEO of Rafay, stated that operating AI infrastructure at scale requires more than just GPU capacity; providers also need orchestration, automation, and governance capabilities to transform infrastructure into secure, reliable, and production-ready AI services.

Rafay Systems provides software to operators building AI clouds, including new cloud service providers, telecommunications providers, enterprises, and sovereign AI operators. Its technology stack covers bare metal provisioning, infrastructure lifecycle management, virtual machines, Kubernetes, GPU platform-as-a-service, AI development environments, and token-metered inference services.

The two companies expect that this collaboration will strengthen Sharon AI's internal capabilities and expertise around the Rafay platform, embed consistent operational practices across deployments, improve infrastructure utilization and reliability, automate service delivery, maintain governance consistency, and accelerate customer access to advanced AI capabilities.

The announcement comes shortly after Sharon AI disclosed multiple cloud service contracts in succession. A contract announced last month was signed with a global AI platform for a five-year term with a total contract value of $373 million. Sharon AI expects to deploy cloud computing solutions on its AI infrastructure in Australia, with related revenue expected to begin in the first quarter of 2027. In July 2026, the company also signed a five-year cloud computing services agreement with a global AI laboratory totaling $1.32 billion, involving the deployment of cloud computing solutions on data center infrastructure in New Zealand, with revenue from that contract expected to begin in the first and second quarters of 2027.

Through its AI Factory platform and a network of technology and colocation partners, Sharon AI provides sovereign AI infrastructure to global customers, covering everything from model training to inference and agentic AI.
