Suriname's Telesur Completes Cerillion 26.1 BSS/OSS System Upgrade
en.Wedoany.com Reported - On September 28, Surinamese telecom operator Telesur completed and officially launched the Cerillion 26.1 BSS/OSS system upgrade. The upgrade covered core systems including billing, charging, customer relationship management, product configuration, and operations support, enabling Telesur to add promotions management, AI agents, open APIs, and real-time customer data management capabilities on top of its existing unified BSS/OSS platform. Cerillion stated that Telesur's operations remained continuously running throughout the upgrade process, with no significant disruption to existing fixed and mobile communication services.
The new version introduces the Promotions Engine, allowing Telesur to configure and launch new tariff offers and marketing campaigns directly within the system, reducing the cross-departmental configuration and system adjustment steps typical of traditional product development. Cerillion 26.1 also introduces AI agents to support more automated operational tasks and expands TM Forum Open APIs, enabling third-party systems, digital channels, and internal business platforms to connect to the BSS/OSS environment through standardized interfaces.
CRM Plus was also updated in this upgrade. The new system can consolidate customer information from different business systems into a unified interface and provide real-time data views, enabling customer service and operations personnel to view customer products, services, and interaction information. Telesur's previous fixed, mobile, prepaid, and postpaid services had all been migrated to the Cerillion unified platform, so the 26.1 upgrade directly applies to its existing full-service customer base rather than targeting a single mobile or fixed-line product line.
Telesur and Cerillion have been engaged in system transformation for several years. In 2023, Telesur first migrated prepaid and postpaid mobile services to the Cerillion BSS/OSS platform, while launching a new online portal and mobile app; in April 2024, fixed-line customers completed migration, unifying previously dispersed fixed and mobile services from different systems onto a single converged platform, and gradually decommissioning legacy mobile business support systems.
The Cerillion suite currently used by Telesur already covers modules including CRM Plus, convergent billing, enterprise product catalog, revenue management, service management, self-service, mobile app, business analytics, and interconnect settlement, and has deployed multiple TM Forum standard APIs including TMF621, TMF637, TMF663, and TMF683. This upgrade further expands open interfaces and AI capabilities, providing a unified software foundation for future new digital services and external system integration.
Next, Telesur will deploy Cerillion's new Composable Self Service module. This module will be used to build more flexible digital self-service processes and add electronic customer identity verification eKYC capabilities, enabling new users to complete identity verification and service activation online. Cerillion 26.1 itself already supports Agent2Agent capabilities, allowing different AI agents to exchange context and collaboratively execute multi-step business processes within and beyond the platform.
