en.Wedoany.com Reported - The Korea Artificial Intelligence Cloud Industry Association (KACI) announced on the 18th the establishment of the "AI-Cloud Forum," which has been selected as a strategic forum under the "ICT Standardization Forum Support Project" supported by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Korea Information and Communication Technology Association (TTA), and will operate accordingly.

The forum aims to enhance industrial technology competitiveness and expand global standardization linkages through the standardization of cloud-based AI convergence technologies. Against the backdrop of AI and cloud becoming core industrial infrastructure, the forum will focus on developing effective standards that reflect on-site needs, and will advance standardization efforts in cloud computing, cloud-based AI computing infrastructure, cloud-based AI agents and convergence services, and areas related to the K-Cloud project, centered around a standard expert working group.

With the expansion of AI services and agent applications, the demand for standardization of cloud infrastructure, AI computing resources, data processing environments, and service connection methods is growing. Through this forum, KACI plans to establish a foundation for common technical standards and cooperation among enterprises, public institutions, and research organizations.

In terms of international standardization activities, the AI-Cloud Forum will actively participate in activities of international standardization bodies such as ITU-T SG13 and ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC38, and will propose international standards in the AI-Cloud field and promote cooperation. KACI envisions that this will enable the domestic AI and cloud industries to proactively respond to global standard discussions and expand the application base of domestic technologies and services in overseas markets.

The forum chairman is Lee Seung-yoon, head of the Standards Research Division at the ICT Strategy Research Institute of the Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI). Participating institutions include over 40 domestic industry, academia, and research organizations such as ETRI, Kyung Hee University, Dongguk University, Sangmyung University, Honam University, Inogrid, and Two Line Cloud.

KACI stated that it will enhance the industrial applicability of cloud and AI convergence technologies through the forum and expand the standardization cooperation system involving both public and private sectors. KACI Chairman Kim Bong-kyun said that the establishment of the AI-Cloud Forum will serve as an important opportunity to enhance the competitiveness of the domestic AI and cloud industries, creating new market opportunities through public-private cooperation.
