en.Wedoany.com Reported - U.S. depackaging and recycling company Circular Services has announced the official launch of its new depackaging facility in Vero Beach, Florida, aimed at providing local food and beverage manufacturers, distributors, and retailers with the capability to recycle damaged or expired packaged products.

Circular Services stated that this facility, located on Florida's east coast, is the first of its kind in the state and the only commercially scaled depackaging operation permitted by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP).

"In Vero Beach, we have built a facility that ensures food waste and packaging materials each go to their proper place, enabling recycling rather than landfill disposal, and providing commercial generators in Florida with the local partner they need to achieve this goal," said Jessica Long, Chief Strategy Officer and Chief Operating Officer of Circular Services.

Circular Services views Florida as one of the largest and fastest-growing manufacturing states in the U.S., with food and beverage production being one of its largest sectors.

The new system in Vero Beach can process over 600 tons of food and beverage materials per week. The facility can separate packaging for recycling and send organic contents to Circular Services' co-located composting site, thereby helping businesses avoid landfill disposal costs associated with damaged or expired packaged food and beverage materials.

Circular Services stated that it is one of the largest composters and one of the largest recycling companies in Florida, with processing facilities in both South Florida and Central Florida. "Our organic recycling facilities process food and yard waste from households and businesses across the state, producing high-quality compost, mulch, soil, and more for residential and commercial landscaping and planting use," the company said.

"This expansion brings a much-needed comprehensive food waste recycling system to Florida," said David Barenberg, Vice President of Organics at Circular Services. "By properly separating packaging from organic materials, we obtain clean, nutrient-rich compost. This is what the circular economy looks like in practice, and it is the standard we uphold at every facility we operate."
