en.Wedoany.com Reported - Peru's Ministry of Energy and Mines (Minem) has issued a reminder regarding the submission deadline for the Detailed Environmental Plan (PAD): operators of electric power activities must complete their submissions by August 20, 2026, as established by Supreme Decree No. 011-2026-EM. This decree optimizes the environmental adjustment process for electric power activities and amends Article 48 of the Regulation on Environmental Protection for Electric Power Activities, aiming to streamline procedures and accelerate the environmental regularization process for operators in the electric power subsector.

One major change introduced by this adjustment is the elimination of the Single Registration Form (FUA) as a prior requirement. Operators are no longer required to obtain this registration beforehand and may directly submit their PAD to the General Directorate of Environmental Affairs in Electricity (DGAAE) under Minem, thereby reducing administrative steps and potentially speeding up document processing.

Minem reminds operators who have not yet processed their PAD that the preferential measures only cover applications submitted within the deadline set by the decree; those submitted after the deadline will not be eligible. The PAD applies to environmental adjustments for electric power activities or facilities that were built before Supreme Decree No. 014-2019-EM took effect; new projects fall outside this scope.

For application documents that were previously rejected, declared inadmissible or unacceptable, not submitted, or in abandoned or withdrawn status, the decree also provides a special channel for resubmission: the relevant operators may submit their applications within six months, with the possibility of a one-time extension of the same period if necessary.

The DGAAE also offers free preventive technical guidance to operators before they submit environmental documents, helping them comply with current requirements and facilitating the proper preparation of documents.
