en.Wedoany.com Reported - WEI has announced the launch of WEI Connect, a product that enables organizations to deploy internet connectivity at fixed or mobile sites via Starlink transmission, extending enterprise connectivity solutions to security solutions from companies such as Cisco, Palo Alto Networks, and Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE).

The WEI Connect product offers Starlink's Mini, Standard, and Performance user terminals, enabling rapid deployment through pre-configured deployment kits and local installation services. The IT solutions provider claims to have a centralized performance dashboard integrated with the Starlink API, providing enterprise-wide real-time telemetry data, including usage tracking, link speed, throughput, latency, and signal quality.
WEI Connect also extends WEI's SD-WAN and Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) integration services by validating and integrating Starlink with platforms from HPE Aruba Networking, Cisco, Palo Alto Networks, Fortinet, and Cato Networks.
Among the partners, Cisco is currently associated with Starlink through its integration with SpaceX's satellite provider via the Catalyst SD-WAN service. Announced in 2024, this service can route traffic to up to eight Starlink satellite antennas and integrates with cloud-based Security Service Edge (SSE) services, allowing traffic destined for the internet to be inspected through a cloud security stack. Remote sites using Starlink can establish encrypted IPSec tunnels to connect to cloud gateways in Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud, while an access service provides path optimization for Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) and web applications.
HPE has a SASE case study for cruise terminals by integrating Starlink into the HPE Aruba Networking EdgeConnect platform. In this example, Starlink terminals provide satellite uplinks and downlinks, connecting to two pairs of EdgeConnect SD-WAN devices deployed in two redundant data centers on the ship. Starlink handles satellite and radio frequency band switching, while EdgeConnect manages the enterprise network layer.
WEI, headquartered in Salem, New Hampshire, appears to be one of the few vendors offering SD-WAN and SASE connectivity via satellite. For example, Vodafone Business embeds satellite access directly through its SD-WAN and SASE product portfolio, a partnership that seems to be with AST SpaceMobile. Starlink connectivity sets WEI apart in this regard, coupled with the additional prestige of SpaceX's recent large initial public offering (IPO) and the integration of Starlink with Musk's artificial intelligence venture xAI. The IPO filing shows that the Starlink network currently serves approximately 10.3 million users, with a median residential download speed of 225 Mb/s during peak hours and a median latency of about 25 milliseconds, supported by roughly 9,600 broadband and mobile satellites in orbit.
Commenting on the launch of WEI Connect, WEI CEO Belisario Rosas stated that by partnering with Starlink, WEI provides IT leaders with a new level of control over their networks, whether they are connecting remote offices, ensuring business continuity, or implementing a modern WAN strategy. With WEI Connect, enterprises can stay connected anytime, anywhere, gaining resilient connectivity at every site to grow and operate without latency or disruption.
