en.Wedoany.com Reported - German IT security providers FAST LTA and Eperi have entered into a sales partnership to jointly offer data protection solutions for enterprises. Eperi's core technology encrypts data before it is uploaded to the cloud, preventing access by hyperscale cloud providers, governments, and attackers, while also blocking AI services that are controversial in Germany from reading the data. For companies that still need to use AI, FAST LTA offers a locally deployed AI solution called "Silent AI."

Roland Stritt, Chief Revenue Officer of FAST LTA, pointed out that the two companies are committed to providing solutions that enable enterprises to use data in a modern and secure manner. Through this collaboration, they achieve an ideal complementarity, and the joint "Made in Germany" solution fully meets data sovereignty requirements. FAST LTA offers local data storage and local AI solutions, allowing data to be securely stored and processed using local AI within a protected enterprise environment, without leaking unencrypted data to the cloud.

Andreas Steffen, CEO of Eperi, stated that the product portfolios of the two companies are functionally complementary, serving the same vertical sectors without overlap. This enables both parties to deliver a joint value proposition to customers without requiring significant code adjustments. FAST LTA's customers can leverage Eperi for cloud enablement, while Eperi's customers can gain local AI, backup, and archiving support through FAST LTA.

Compliance in AI usage has become a key concern for many enterprises. Many companies want to use AI to process internal data but are worried about transmitting it to external services. To address this, "Eperi sEcure" encrypts each document before it is stored in SaaS platforms such as Microsoft 365, Salesforce, ServiceNow, or cloud storage. Processing is handled by Silent AI, which is located on the enterprise's premises and only accesses decrypted content within this controlled environment. Neither cloud service providers nor external AI services can read the plaintext of these documents. FAST LTA states that this allows documents to be processed using AI while data sovereignty remains with the customer, in compliance with legal requirements such as the GDPR and the EU AI Act.

Regarding secure cloud usage, FAST LTA customers who have already backed up data on the local Silent Brick system—a tamper-proof backup and recovery appliance—and wish to additionally back up via cloud storage can now use Eperi's multi-cloud solution sEcure to back up across multiple cloud storage providers. Data is encrypted before being transmitted to cloud storage, with the keys fully controlled by the customer.

FAST LTA explains that this allows enterprises to expand their existing backup and archiving strategies by using the cloud as an additional storage location without relinquishing control over sensitive data or compliance requirements. Even if a successful attack on cloud storage leads to a data breach, it would have no impact since all data is encrypted.

For local storage at Eperi customers, Eperi can encrypt data in the cloud during operation, but the SaaS service itself does not provide data backup. FAST LTA recommends establishing a second physical control layer within the enterprise for backup and long-term retention, and recommends its own systems: Silent Brick for tamper-proof backups, or Silent Cubes for audit-compliant archiving, such as data from DMS or archiving software. The two partners state that this creates a multi-layered protection model: cloud encryption plus an independent local copy, which prevents tampering and data loss while avoiding over-reliance on a single vendor. For enterprises with particularly stringent requirements in data backup, archiving, and compliance, this forms a reliable and compliant foundation for long-term retention.
