en.Wedoany.com Reported - Venture Global and Greece's Atlantic-SEE LNG Trade have expanded their existing LNG sale and purchase agreement, with a contract volume increasing from a minimum of 500,000 tons per year to 1 million tons per year for a 20-year term starting in 2030.

Atlantic-SEE LNG is a newly established joint venture formed by Greek companies AKTOR Group and DEPA Commercial. This expanded supply agreement follows Venture Global's previously announced investment in the regasification capacity of the Alexandroupolis LNG import terminal in Greece, which currently accounts for approximately 25% of the terminal's total capacity. The Alexandroupolis LNG FSRU receiving terminal and the north-south "Vertical Corridor" will provide a new route for Central and Eastern Europe, bringing US natural gas into the region.

Mike Sabel, CEO of Venture Global, stated that this expanded partnership strengthens the shared commitment to energy security, supply diversification, and economic growth, while advancing the strategic energy relationship between the United States and Europe.

Alexandros Exarchou, CEO of Atlantic SEE LNG Trade, noted that the expansion of the commercial agreement reflects the ambition and solid foundation of long-term strategic plans in LNG, as well as the potential of the Vertical Corridor to provide alternatives and energy security for Central and Eastern Europe.

Konstantinos Xifaras, Chairman of Atlantic SEE LNG Trade, said that by doubling the supply guaranteed under the agreement, a stronger foundation has been laid for reliable and predictable LNG supply in the region, translating strategic planning into concrete commercial outcomes.

Venture Global is a US LNG producer and exporter with a total production capacity exceeding 100 MTPA across its operating, under-construction, or development projects. ATLANTIC – SEE LNG TRADE, 60% owned by AKTOR Group and 40% by DEPA Commercial, aims to import LNG into Greece and trade it in Eastern and Southeastern Europe via the Vertical Energy Corridor.
